Embraer has signed a comprehensive service and support agreement with the Hungarian Air Force to sustain its C-390 Millennium military transport fleet. The contract covers maintenance, logistics, and technical assistance, leveraging Embraer’s European support infrastructure to ensure high aircraft availability for Hungary’s two C-390 aircraft. Hungary is the second NATO member to induct the C-390 Millennium into active service.

Designed as a multi-mission platform, the C-390 Millennium goes beyond traditional airlift roles. The aircraft supports medical evacuation, humanitarian assistance, search and rescue, troop and cargo transport, precision airdrop missions, paratrooper deployment, and air-to-air refueling operations. Notably, Hungary’s C-390 is the first globally to incorporate a modular roll-on/roll-off intensive care medical unit, allowing rapid mission reconfiguration based on operational requirements.

Embraer stated that the service agreement builds on the aircraft’s proven operational reliability. Since entering service, the C-390 fleet has achieved a mission completion rate exceeding 99 percent. The enhanced support package is intended to maintain this performance as the Hungarian Air Force increases flight tempo and expands the aircraft’s mission portfolio.

Hungary’s partnership with Embraer began in November 2020, when it ordered two C-390 Millennium aircraft in an air-to-air refueling configuration, including training and logistical services. The first aircraft arrived at Kecskemét Air Base in September 2024, while delivery of the second aircraft in November 2025 made Hungary the first operator worldwide to complete delivery of its contracted C-390 fleet.
