Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri and Spain’s Navantia have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture supporting the European Patrol Corvette program. Backed by EU defense cooperation initiatives, the program aims to create a standardized, modular naval platform for Italy, Spain, France, and Greece. The partnership will lead the design of the Full Combat Multipurpose variant and prepare for prototyping of the Long-Range Multipurpose Patrol model. With more than 40 companies from 12 countries involved, the project strengthens European naval industrial collaboration and promotes common fleet interoperability.
