The French Navy has received its first surface drone for mine countermeasure operations under the SLAMF (Future Mine Countermeasures System) initiative. The drone is equipped with a towed sonar and is operated from a mobile command center based in Brest, France’s second-largest naval base. The system is expected to reach initial operational capability by late 2025.
