GE Aerospace has announced a $1-billion investment to expand defense manufacturing capacity and increase aircraft engine production across the United States. The funding will support facilities in more than 30 communities across 17 states while also strengthening the company’s supplier network. The investment includes upgrades to manufacturing infrastructure, advanced testing facilities, and new production technologies such as 3D metal printing. GE Aerospace also plans to hire around 5,000 workers in engineering and manufacturing roles to meet growing defense and commercial aviation demand.
