The US Department of Defense has awarded Nan Inc., a Hawaii-based construction firm, a $211 million contract to build a modern communications facility at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. The project marks a significant investment in strengthening America’s strategic presence in the Pacific.
Funding for the initiative will be rolled out in phases. The first phase allocates $91.3 million, which was obligated at the time of the contract award and will remain available for use beyond the current fiscal cycle.
Construction efforts will be managed in coordination with the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Pacific, headquartered at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Hawaii. This partnership is expected to ensure smooth planning and execution of the large-scale project.
According to the Pentagon, the new communications center is set to be completed by March 2030, supporting long-term defense infrastructure and enhancing secure connectivity across the region.
