Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has launched the DRISHTI challenge to develop a high-fidelity digital twin model for gas turbine starter engines. This initiative reflects a shift toward data-driven engineering, enabling simulation, diagnostics, and optimization in a virtual environment. The digital twin will replicate real-world engine behavior, providing insights into performance and enabling predictive maintenance. HAL emphasizes modular architecture integrating analytics, prognostics, and visualization layers for comprehensive functionality. The project also includes strict validation frameworks to ensure accuracy and reliability in mission-critical applications. Deliverables include full source code, documentation, and training, ensuring long-term usability and scalability. This structured development approach aims to reduce testing costs and improve lifecycle management of aerospace systems.
