Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a key player in India’s aerospace and defense sector, has initiated efforts to improve the survivability and combat performance of its Light Combat Helicopters (LCH). The company has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the joint development of an advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite, to be spearheaded by its Strategic Electronics Research & Design Centre (SLRDC) in Hyderabad. This move underscores HAL’s commitment to advancing domestic defense technology. Designed for operations in high-altitude and challenging environments, the LCH is equipped with diverse weaponry, including air-to-air and anti-tank missiles. As modern warfare evolves, HAL sees the integration of a cutting-edge EW system as vital to maintaining operational superiority and aircraft resilience.
