The Indian Air Force is pursuing a modernization effort to convert existing 100–120 kg bombs into long-range precision-guided weapons under the ADITI initiative. The project focuses on developing a propulsion-based range extension kit capable of exceeding 200 km, significantly enhancing strike capability. Unlike traditional glide kits, the system will include EO/IR terminal guidance for accurate targeting even in GPS-denied environments. The program aims for high precision, with a CEP of less than 5 meters. Compatibility with existing aircraft and ease of integration are key requirements, ensuring rapid deployment without major modifications. This initiative will reduce risks to aircraft while improving effectiveness against high-value targets.
