India has authorized the development of a prototype for its Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), a fifth-generation stealth fighter intended to boost the country’s defense self-reliance. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced the approval, emphasizing its importance amid geopolitical tensions with neighboring countries. The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), under the Ministry of Defense, will lead the project in partnership with domestic industry players to expand India’s indigenous aircraft manufacturing capabilities.
