India has signed a 21.82-billion-rupee agreement with Russia’s Rosoboronexport to procure the Shtil ship-based surface-to-air missile system for the Indian Navy. Developed by Almaz-Antey, the system can intercept multiple aerial threats at ranges of up to 45 kilometers. In a separate contract, India also ordered six indigenous Advanced Light Helicopters Mk-III for the Coast Guard to strengthen maritime security missions.
