The Israeli Ministry of Defense has approved the procurement of new-generation missile corvettes and a large number of Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) to modernize its naval and ground forces. The Israeli Navy will acquire five Reshef-class corvettes to replace its aging Sa’ar 4.5-class ships, which will be used for maritime patrol and combat missions. Meanwhile, the JLTVs, produced in the U.S., will be integrated into Israel’s maneuver units for combat, transport, and rescue operations.
