Japan has received its first batch of Joint Strike Missiles developed by Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace for deployment on F-35A Lightning II aircraft. Designed for internal carriage, the missile offers a range of up to 563 km and uses GPS, inertial navigation, and infrared guidance for precision targeting. The system significantly enhances Japan’s long-range strike and anti-surface warfare capabilities.
