During the Talisman Sabre 2025 exercise in Australia, the US military showcased the L3Harris-developed electronic warfare (EW) system designed to detect surface radars aboard marine vessels. The trial emphasized the growing role of advanced EW technologies in joint operations.
At the center of this demonstration was the cloud-hosted Distributed Spectrum Collaboration and Operations (DiSCO) system, which streamlines battlefield responses. By integrating data from sensors, communication channels, and analytical methods into a single network, DiSCO enhances decision-making speed and operational efficiency.
In the drills, the system coordinated operations using inputs from a linked aircraft and two Seasats Lightfish autonomous vessels, each equipped with compact EW payloads. This integration allowed real-time analysis and collaborative spectrum operations.
DiSCO has been undergoing continuous validation. In 2024, it participated in Valiant Shield, a US Indo-Pacific Command exercise involving allies Japan, Canada, and France. Later in Washington, DC, the system was mounted on a Seasats Lightfish vessel, where it successfully collected and processed radio frequency data for further analysis.
