Lockheed Martin and Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 17 at the 2025 Paris Air Show to broaden their cooperation beyond air systems. The expanded partnership now includes rotorcraft manufacturing, next-generation platforms, space technologies, crewed-uncrewed teaming, uncrewed aerial vehicles, training solutions, and sustainment.
The MoU, signed by Lockheed Martin Chief Operating Officer Frank St. John and KAI President & CEO Goo-young Kang, strengthens a collaboration that has flourished over the past 30 years. This relationship began with licensed F-16 production and later grew to include the T-50 advanced trainer, FA-50 light combat aircraft, the KF-21 multirole fighter, and integrated logistics support.
Both companies are actively exploring new opportunities under this agreement, including joint efforts to support T-50 and FA-50 export programs, such as the U.S. Navy’s Undergraduate Jet Training System.
