Spanish shipbuilder Navantia has initiated construction of the Royal Saudi Naval Force’s seventh Avante 2200-class corvette at its San Fernando facility. The steel-cutting ceremony marks the official start of work on the ship, which comes three months after the first vessel under the program was launched. The overall project includes integrated logistics support and training services for Saudi naval personnel.
