Northrop Grumman has secured a $180 million contract to develop the next generation of mission planning systems for the US Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps. The systems aim to streamline operations across multiple domains through advanced automation and data-driven decision-making.

The effort will enhance how forces plan missions, assess risks, and react to evolving threats in real time. A key focus is on enabling faster, smarter responses by integrating cutting-edge data analysis tools into planning platforms.

The US Air Force will receive the largest share of the funding—$115 million—for a global strike mission planning system managed under the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. This platform will provide real-time threat and situational awareness data to enhance decision-making speed and accuracy.

By leveraging modern technologies, Northrop Grumman’s systems are expected to significantly improve the coordination and effectiveness of joint operations, helping US forces maintain a strategic edge in rapidly shifting combat environments.
