The Peruvian Navy has officially launched two Pativilca-class offshore patrol vessels—BAP Río Huarmey (PM 210) and BAP Río Nepeña (PM 211)—as part of its initiative to expand maritime security capabilities. These ships are among ten planned under a national program aimed at supporting surveillance, anti-piracy operations, environmental protection, and search-and-rescue missions. The vessels are modeled after South Korea’s Tae Guk-class patrol ships.
