BAE Systems has awarded Raytheon UK a contract to deliver advanced GPS anti-jamming solutions for the CV90 infantry fighting vehicle. The move is designed to enhance the platform’s ability to withstand electronic interference, strengthening its navigation reliability in contested environments.

At the core of this effort is the Landshield Plus, an integrated unit combining an antenna with an anti-jam processor. The system provides real-time detection of jamming signals and identifies their origin, offering crews greater situational awareness in the electromagnetic spectrum.

First unveiled in May 2019, Landshield Plus is compact yet capable of recognizing spoofing attempts, where counterfeit GPS signals are transmitted to mislead vehicles into calculating false positions. When deployed across multiple CV90s, its sensors can be networked to triangulate the location of jammers, turning defensive protection into actionable battlefield intelligence.

The system functions on both the L1 and L2 frequency bands — the main GPS signals — and can counter interference from as many as six jammers simultaneously. Deliveries for integration into the CV90 fleet are scheduled to begin in 2025 and continue through 2029, equipping the vehicle with a critical edge in modern electronic warfare environments.
