Rheinmetall has won a breakthrough contract to equip the Swedish Navy’s Combat Boat 90 fast attack craft with Seasnake 30 light naval guns.

The €63 million agreement covers eight systems, associated ammunition, spare parts, and service support across four years, with options for 29 more units. Initial deliveries are scheduled for February 2028.

The remotely operated system uses advanced sensors and a laser rangefinder to identify and track multiple threats. Its 30mm revolver cannon delivers a firing rate of 1,100 rounds per minute and a muzzle velocity of 1,050 meters per second.

As the first NATO customer for the Seasnake 30, Sweden will deploy the weapon primarily for amphibious air-defense missions, integrated with Hensoldt’s Spexer 2000 3D MkIII Naval radar.
