Rolls-Royce has completed altitude and operability testing of its F130 engine, clearing a key milestone toward powering the upgraded Boeing B-52J Stratofortress fleet. Conducted at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex, the trials verified sustained high-altitude performance and engine stability under simulated turbulent airflow conditions. The F130 will replace the decades-old TF33 engines, offering improved durability, reduced maintenance demands, and modernized power generation through integrated drive generator testing conducted with Boeing.
