Korea Aerospace Industries has revealed the first mass-produced model of the KF-21 Boramae fighter jet, marking a major milestone in South Korea’s defense independence. After decades of planning, development began in 2015, followed by a prototype in 2021 and first flight in 2022. With over 1,600 test flights completed, production began in 2024, and deployment is expected by 2026. The aircraft is designed to replace aging fleets and features advanced engines, supersonic speed, and multi-role combat capabilities.
