Saab has been awarded a contract by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to supply Giraffe 4A radar systems and related services to the Swedish Armed Forces. Valued at approximately SEK 1.4 billion, deliveries are planned between 2026 and 2027.
The Giraffe 4A will enhance Sweden’s ground-based air surveillance capabilities with its mobile, state-of-the-art sensor that supports software-driven upgrades.
This versatile radar system offers multiple functionalities, capable of identifying and tracking numerous targets simultaneously, making it ideal for air and maritime surveillance as well as military air traffic control.
