Teledyne FLIR has launched a cross-Canada demonstration tour for its latest airborne imaging system, the Star SAFIRE UltraFORCE 380X. Mounted on the nose of a helicopter, the system was showcased to highlight its advanced capabilities in both surveillance and reconnaissance.

Over the course of the campaign, a four-member crew visited more than 10 cities across seven provinces, giving defense and security officials a firsthand look at the technology in action. The demonstration emphasized the platform’s multi-spectral performance, which integrates infrared sensors and high-resolution color cameras.

One of the key features highlighted during the tour was the system’s continuous zoom and low-light imaging ability, designed to maintain clear visuals across different operational conditions. These features are tailored to assist missions requiring day-and-night situational awareness.

Although visually similar to the standard Star SAFIRE model, the UltraFORCE 380X carries a unique advantage: it is free from international export restrictions. This distinction positions the system as an advanced yet widely accessible solution for allied customers.
