Teledyne FLIR OEM, a division of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, has announced that its range of dual-use thermal camera modules—including Neutrino®, Boson®, Hadron™, and Lepton®—now meet National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) compliance for U.S. government contractors and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). These modules support the development of secure, high-performance thermal imaging solutions that comply with NDAA regulations.
The NDAA restricts certain foreign-sourced video surveillance and telecommunications equipment in U.S. defense systems. Teledyne FLIR OEM’s NDAA-compliant thermal cameras are qualified for various federal, state, and local government contracts and can be seamlessly integrated into current and future defense platforms such as ground vehicles, unmanned systems, threat warning devices, missile seekers, targeting systems, counter-UAS solutions, precision strike assets, and soldier systems.
Key products include:
Neutrino LC and SX8: Compact mid-wave infrared (MWIR) focal plane arrays designed for high operating temperatures, ideal for handheld, gimbals, and targeting systems.
Neutrino QX and SX12: High-resolution, fast-frame MWIR models optimized for ISR, counter-drone, and wide-area motion imaging missions.
Neutrino IS: Combines Neutrino LC and SX modules with continuous zoom lenses, providing high-performance, size-weight-and-power (SWaP) optimized solutions.
Neutrino Ground ISR: Turnkey MWIR solutions tailored for integrators developing long-range, ground-based ISR systems.
Boson: Uncooled long-wave infrared (LWIR) radiometric modules available in multiple resolutions and frame rates.
Boson+: High-performance variant delivering industry-leading thermal sensitivity with a noise equivalent temperature difference (NETD) below 20 millikelvin.
Boson+ CZ: Combines Boson+ LWIR camera with a 5x continuous zoom lens for enhanced performance and easier integration.
Hadron 640: Integrates a 64MP visible camera and a 640×512 Boson thermal sensor in a single module, streamlining uncrewed system integration.
Lepton: The world’s most widely deployed LWIR thermal imaging module, enabling scalable innovation.
All NDAA-compliant modules are designed and assembled in the U.S., with secure supply chains and final testing at Teledyne FLIR’s Goleta, California facility. These modules are non-ITAR and fall under the export jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
