Ankara will supply 48 Kaan fighter jets to Indonesia in a newly signed agreement valued at $10 billion, Turkish President Erdogan announced.
The fifth-generation aircraft, designed and manufactured by TAI, made its inaugural flight in February 2024 and is set to be delivered across 10 years. It is currently fitted with F-16-style engines, though a transition to Turkish-made engines is planned.
Turkey’s defense export income reached $7.1 billion in 2024, a notable increase from the previous year, supported by high-profile products like the Bayraktar drone family.
