General Dynamics Electric Boat has secured a $1.8 billion contract from the U.S. Department of Defense to continue acquiring long lead time materials for the Virginia-class Block VI submarine program. This latest award follows previous agreements, including $2.2 billion in 2023, $1.3 billion in August 2024, and $1.06 billion in April, all supporting the advanced procurement and construction of the next-generation submarines.
Additionally, General Dynamics finalized another contract in June for lead yard support and further development of components and suppliers. The work under this new deal will take place across multiple U.S. facilities, including sites in California, with project completion expected by September 2035. Coordination will be maintained with the Naval Sea Systems Command.
