The United States Navy and the Defense Innovation Unit have selected Anduril Industries to develop an extra-large autonomous underwater vehicle as part of the Combat Autonomous Maritime Platform Project. The company’s Dive-XL platform is designed to support the Pentagon’s efforts to rapidly prototype and deploy long-range underwater drones capable of traveling over 1,000 nautical miles and diving deeper than 200 meters. The program aims to strengthen the Navy’s future fleet by integrating robotic and autonomous technologies with traditional crewed vessels. The Dive-XL system is expected to complete an operational demonstration within several months following the contract award.
