Eureka Naval Craft, a US-based defense company, has partnered with Singapore’s Strategic Marine to develop a new line of modular warships intended for the US Navy and allied forces. The collaboration seeks to introduce flexible naval solutions in Asia.
At the heart of the effort is the Aircat Bengal MC, a 36-meter (118-foot) surface effect ship designed to perform missions that are typically handled by larger vessels such as corvettes and frigates.
The ship’s modular design allows it to undertake a wide array of missions, including troop transport, amphibious landings, drone operations, electronic warfare, and mine countermeasures. This adaptability makes it a cost-efficient alternative for modern navies.
The program highlights a shift toward smaller, mission-tailored warships capable of meeting diverse operational demands while reducing the need for large and costly surface combatants.
