Missouri-based Q-Net Security has secured a contract with the US Air Force to enhance battlefield communications, focusing on faster, more secure, and reliable data transfer in high-pressure environments. The deal expands on the company’s earlier work with the service involving wide-area airborne networks, high-capacity air-to-air links, and mobile self-forming networks designed to maintain connectivity for units on the move.

The initiative will also support the development of Tactical Key Management encryption tools, aimed at ensuring secure real-time communications. These systems are particularly important for Agile Combat Employment concepts, which require forces to deploy and operate quickly in contested conditions.

Q-Net’s product lineup includes the Q-Box, a plug-and-play device that encrypts all data exchanged between approved endpoints, and the Q-Net Policy Manager, capable of managing up to 1,000 Q-Boxes simultaneously. Both are built on the company’s hardware-based “hardsec” model, which eliminates traditional software vulnerabilities and offers resistance against remote cyberattacks.

These solutions have already been fielded by US military branches to safeguard networks and infrastructure. Q-Net CEO John Pyrovolakis emphasized that the contract reflects the Air Force’s push to adopt cutting-edge communication systems that enhance warfighter effectiveness, delivering both “strength and simplicity” in the field.
