Iraq has finalized a $118 million agreement with Vectrus Systems to provide support services for its fleet of F-16 fighter aircraft. Facilitated under the US Foreign Military Sales program, the contract covers essential base operations, life support, and other logistics services.
A payment of $57.8 million was made upfront by the Iraqi government. The work will be conducted at Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base in southern Iraq and is expected to conclude by November 2026. Iraq currently operates 34 F-16C/D jets from Lockheed Martin, but operational readiness has dropped significantly in recent years due to reduced contractor support.
