Bell Textron has delivered the first of two MV-75 Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) virtual prototypes to the U.S. Army, with the second expected to arrive later this month at the Aviation Center of Excellence in Fort Rucker, Alabama.
These advanced simulators, developed using digital twin technology, are designed for evaluation and user feedback to support the development of the physical FLRAA platform. The system will allow soldiers to assess performance, safety, hardware and software integration, and mission-specific scenarios. It can also be upgraded to serve as a full-fledged flight training device.
The delivery marks a key milestone under the Army’s Middle Tier of Acquisition pathway, which was used to streamline the program. Following this, a Milestone B decision in June 2024 advanced the initiative into the engineering and manufacturing development phase.
