CAE Defense & Security has won a $180-million contract to deliver comprehensive training support for US Army rotary-wing operators—a step seen as critical to meeting rising demands for highly skilled, mission-ready aircrews. Under the new program, approximately 900 pilots and crew, both American and foreign, will undertake rigorous instruction on advanced platforms such as the CH-47F Chinook, AH-64E Apache, and UH-60M Black Hawk.

The curriculum spans instructor pilot development, maintenance evaluation, and intensive non-rated crew instruction. Notably, the initiative will double the number of certified UH-60 instructors, broadening the Army’s training base and enhancing readiness as cohort sizes increase. Through this multi-faceted program, CAE will also manage maintenance and skill sustainment aspects, ensuring fleetwide competence and consistency.

Execution is coordinated with the Army Aviation Center of Excellence and the 110th Aviation Brigade, maintaining alignment with the latest doctrine and tactics. The option for program continuation through 2030 further reflects a long-term strategy to keep US Army aviation forces proficient in emerging technologies and battlefield demands.
