Anduril Industries has completed the first delivery of its flagship Altius loitering munitions to Taiwan under a foreign military sales agreement signed in 2024. The transfer, finalized just six months after the deal’s announcement, marks a major step in the company’s expansion in Taiwan and highlights strengthened defense cooperation between Washington and Taipei. The swift delivery was attributed to close coordination among Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense, U.S. officials, and industry partners.

Coinciding with the shipment, Anduril has inaugurated Anduril Taiwan, a new office dedicated to local engineering, supply chain support, and program execution. This permanent presence is intended to bolster Taiwan’s defense capabilities and solidify the firm’s long-term commitment to the region.

The company is also deepening its partnership with Taiwan’s state-owned National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology. The collaboration focuses on AI-enabled command and control solutions and unmanned systems. Their joint work has already integrated Anduril’s Lattice AI software into the institute’s systems, with a live-fire demonstration planned for later this month and more public showcases scheduled for September.

Part of the Altius family, the delivered drones are capable of long-range autonomous precision strikes and aerial reconnaissance. Depending on the model, the system can operate up to 273 miles (440 kilometers), reach speeds of 115 miles (185 kilometers) per hour, and fly at altitudes of 15,000 feet (4,572 meters). With over four hours of endurance and multiple payload options, the Altius is designed for high-risk missions where conventional platforms may be less effective.
