Diehl Defence of Germany and Spanish firm Sener have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand their cooperation in developing next-generation defense technologies. The partnership will focus on advanced areas such as hypersonic missile systems, unmanned ground vehicles, and remote carriers, many of which are central to future European air combat strategies.

This joint initiative specifically aligns with the goals of the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) program—a collaborative European project involving Germany, France, and Spain to build an integrated air combat ecosystem of manned and unmanned assets.

Both companies intend to jointly contribute to key components of the FCAS architecture, including precision-guided missile subsystems and autonomous aerial platforms, which are expected to be essential elements of future battlefield operations.

Diehl Defence and Sener share a long-standing industrial partnership, having worked together for over 20 years. One notable example is their collaboration on the IRIS-T missile program, where Sener has played a major role in supplying aerodynamic structures and control systems for various IRIS-T configurations.

The IRIS-T, led by Diehl Defence, is a widely adopted short-range air defense missile system used by several NATO member states and allied forces across both airborne and ground-based platforms.
