EUROATLAS and Rheinmetall have partnered to integrate the Greyshark autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) into Battlesuite, an AI-powered command platform designed for coordinated undersea and coastal operations. The collaboration aims to enhance mission planning, decision-making, and real-time coordination in maritime environments.
The Greyshark is engineered for extended-range missions, capable of cruising at speeds of over 12 knots (14 miles or 22 kilometers per hour). It offers an impressive operational reach exceeding 10,000 nautical miles (11,507 miles or 18,520 kilometers), allowing it to cover vast oceanic regions without frequent refueling or servicing.
This advanced AUV operates independently, executing fully autonomous tasks such as intelligence gathering, surveillance, and infrastructure monitoring. Its mission set also includes mine countermeasure operations and territorial patrol duties, ensuring both offensive and defensive capabilities.
By merging Greyshark’s capabilities with the Battlesuite platform, the joint effort is expected to deliver a robust, AI-integrated maritime solution that enhances security and situational awareness in both coastal and deep-sea theaters.
