The Republic of Korea Air Force has partnered with QinetiQ to provide advanced training for its aviators at the prestigious Empire Test Pilots’ School (ETPS). Established in the 1940s, ETPS is globally recognized for its expertise in training test pilots and flight test engineers across fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. Under this agreement, two pilots and two engineers from South Korea will undergo an intensive six-month program that combines theoretical instruction with hands-on flight testing experience. The curriculum focuses on experimental testing, aircraft development, and system evaluation, while also fostering critical thinking and analytical skills. Trainees will gain exposure to multinational training environments, working alongside NATO and UK personnel. Initial training will begin in South Korea before transitioning to the UK, ensuring a structured learning pathway. This collaboration reflects South Korea’s commitment to advancing its aerospace expertise and strengthening its capabilities in flight testing and evaluation.
