Italian defense company Leonardo and Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar have signed a deal to jointly develop and produce unmanned aerial systems (UAS). The collaboration includes the creation of a joint venture focused on meeting Europe’s rapidly expanding demand for drones—projected to surpass $100 billion in the coming decade—with shared responsibilities for design, manufacturing, and maintenance.
