Ratel has introduced the Ratel X unmanned ground vehicle as part of efforts to enhance Ukraine’s frontline robotic capabilities. Designed as a compact and highly maneuverable platform, the system is intended to support troops operating in contested and debris-strewn battlefield environments.
The Ratel X emphasizes mobility and durability through a robust design featuring six independently driven wheels. This configuration allows the vehicle to maintain stability across uneven terrain, while a ground clearance of 42 centimeters enables it to traverse rubble, trenches, and other obstacles commonly found in active combat zones.
Performance specifications highlight the platform’s operational flexibility, with the vehicle capable of traveling up to 120 kilometers on a single mission. It can reach speeds of approximately 18 kilometers per hour, balancing endurance with controlled maneuvering during tactical operations.
With a payload capacity of up to 400 kilograms, the Ratel X can support a wide range of mission sets, including logistics resupply, equipment transport, and potential integration of mission-specific payloads. The system reflects the growing role of unmanned ground platforms in modern warfare, particularly in support of Ukrainian forces.
