The US Air Force has awarded Skyways a $37-million deal to move its V3 autonomous cargo drone from development to mass production.

The agreement includes optimizing the production design, boosting the firm’s manufacturing pipeline, and continuing work on its autonomy features.

Thousands of V3 drones could eventually be deployed across defense and commercial supply chains to meet logistics needs.

The deal also supports the drone’s push to become a Program of Record, opening doors to long-term procurement and upgrades.
