Turkey’s next-generation MARLIN EW 100 unmanned surface vessel (USV) has successfully completed its sea trials and is now entering final preparations before being officially inducted into the Turkish Naval Forces. The milestone marks a significant step in Turkey’s growing naval autonomy and electronic warfare capabilities.

The trials were conducted under the close supervision of the Turkish Naval Forces Command, with engineers and defense officials evaluating the MARLIN’s electronic warfare (EW) suite, sensors, and weapon systems. According to the defense ministry, the vessel’s systems were fully activated and underwent a comprehensive performance review during the testing phase.

Developed as part of Turkey’s expanding “Blue Homeland” maritime doctrine, the MARLIN EW 100 is designed to perform electronic warfare, surveillance, reconnaissance, and naval defense missions. Its modular structure allows the integration of various payloads, enabling it to operate independently or alongside manned ships in joint fleet operations.

With its trials completed, the MARLIN USV is expected to enhance situational awareness, threat detection, and coastal defense across Turkey’s strategic waters. The vessel’s induction will also mark another milestone in Turkey’s push toward indigenous unmanned naval technologies, aligning with ongoing efforts to modernize its defense industry and maritime combat capabilities.
