The UK Ministry of Defence has approved a rapid procurement of 180 low-cost first-person view (FPV) drones from Viking Arms to support British Army training. The order, valued at £256,000 ($336,805), will be delivered within 19 days, reflecting tactical urgency in developing drone operator proficiency.

The order includes 60 units each of 5-inch, 8-inch, and 10-inch FPV drones, ensuring scalable training across multiple control and agility profiles. In addition, the contract covers accessories such as goggles, antennas, and controllers, allowing for immediate deployment in simulation environments.

Designed for short lifecycle usage, these drones will better prepare troops for scenarios involving reconnaissance, UAS countermeasures, and low-cost swarm tactics seen in contemporary conflict zones like Ukraine.
