A US technology company is developing a new first-person view (FPV) drone simulator by integrating a high-performance gaming laptop with a professional handheld controller. The system is designed to give military personnel a highly realistic and immersive training environment that mirrors modern battlefield drone operations.
Created by MVRsimulation, the FPV system uses the firm’s well-known Virtual Reality Scene Generator (VRSG) paired with advanced flight models from Bihrle Applied Research. The combination enables realistic maneuvering characteristics, visual effects, and mission complexity reflecting the challenges seen in real FPV drone missions.
According to the developer, trainees are placed inside a virtual FPV battlespace mapped from real geographic locations and populated with computer-generated forces, military vehicles, weapons, buildings, and environmental details. These elements generate real-time feedback, allowing operators to rehearse reconnaissance, targeting, and combat tasks under realistic cognitive pressure.
