The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded a contract worth 118 million pounds ($160 million) to MBDA for the delivery of six Land Ceptor air defense launchers. The deal is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s ground-based air defense systems.
The three-year agreement includes not only the launchers but also a broad range of support equipment, such as 12 fire unit support vehicles for ammunition, eight baggage vehicles, and eight threat evaluation and weapon assignment systems. These additions will enhance operational readiness and logistics support.
The Land Ceptor serves as a vital component of the Sky Sabre air defense system, designed to be used independently or integrated within a larger battlespace command network. Its versatility ensures adaptability to different mission environments.
Armed with MBDA UK’s Common Anti-Air Modular Missile (CAMM), the system provides both point defense and area coverage for high-value assets, offering rapid response against a variety of aerial threats.
