Germany is set to equip its F-35s with the Joint Strike Missile (JSM) in a $642 million agreement facilitated through Norway.
The German Parliament approved the purchase on June 4, making the country the fifth operator of the Norwegian missile.
The formal signing of the contract is expected by the end of June 2025.
As per the bilateral terms, Norway will acquire the missiles from Kongsberg on Germany’s behalf.
The transaction mirrors the procurement route used for the NSM Block 1A.
It is also tied to the joint development of the future high-speed missile, Tyrfing.
