India’s Nibe Limited has entered a strategic agreement with Israel’s Elbit Systems to locally manufacture the Precise and Universal Launching System (PULS) multiple rocket launcher (MRL). The collaboration includes technology transfer and covers both domestic and export markets.

This marks a milestone for Indian defense manufacturing, as it’s the first time an international MRL will be built in the country. It is expected to significantly enhance India’s expertise in this specialized domain and position it as a global supplier of advanced rocket launcher systems.

The PULS system is seen as a more capable alternative to the Indian-developed Pinaka MRL, which currently serves the Indian Army. Pinaka’s Mk 1 has a range of 37.5 km, while later versions extend to 60 km and 90 km. Future Pinaka variants are expected to hit targets at up to 120 km and 300 km.

In contrast, PULS offers greater flexibility and capability, with a universal launcher that can fire multiple types of rockets and tactical ballistic missiles such as the 300-km-range Predator Hawk. Its modular design allows mounting on various platforms and compatibility with different fire-control systems for seamless integration into existing networks.
