Sweden has signed a contract with MBDA UK for more Meteor radar-guided air-to-air missiles to equip its JAS 39 Gripen C/D fighter jets. In service since 2016, the Meteor is a Beyond Visual Range Air-to-Air Missile (BVRAAM) also used by Rafale and Eurofighter aircraft. The newly ordered missiles are expected to be delivered within the year.
