The United States has approved an $825-million sale of up to 600 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles and support equipment to Morocco. The deal, pending US Congressional signoff, is expected to modernize Morocco’s short-range air defense arsenal by equipping its forces with proven systems able to counter contemporary aerial threats.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) highlighted that the acquisition addresses both current and future defense needs, strengthening the Moroccan Army’s ability to respond rapidly to incursions and improving their compatibility with US and allied military operations. The sale includes accompanying equipment and services to guarantee effective integration within Morocco’s expanding defense network.

Such transfers mark a deepening of US-Moroccan military ties and signal Morocco’s dedication to keeping pace with the latest defense technologies, in line with broader efforts to build resilient partnerships and regional security cooperation.
