Northrop Grumman has handed over its Stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW) test missile to the US Air Force, intended to counter mobile threats. The missile will be evaluated for safe deployment and detachment from aircraft during flight. In 2023, the Air Force awarded the company a $705 million contract to develop and deliver the missile for its F-35 fighter jets. The agreement also includes system testing and full integration to ensure compatibility, with plans to achieve operational capability by 2026.
