The United States Army has awarded a contract to Saab Inc. for the delivery of Giraffe 1X radars to Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. These compact AESA radars provide 360-degree surveillance and can detect drones, missiles, and low-flying aircraft at ranges up to 75 kilometers. Designed for rapid deployment, the system enhances NATO’s eastern flank defenses by improving short-range air defense capabilities in response to evolving regional threats.
