Taiwan is strengthening its air defenses with the procurement of 102 PAC-3 MSE interceptors produced by Lockheed Martin. Funded partly through surplus procurement resources and a proposed $40 billion special defense budget, the missiles enhance Taiwan’s layered “T-Dome” defense network. The PAC-3 MSE can intercept threats at altitudes up to 60 kilometers. Taiwan is forming its fourth Patriot battalion while integrating the system with domestically developed Sky Bow III and Strong Bow missiles to counter potential missile threats from China.
